An advert for Schiesser panties (one has to be careful of the spelling) in Bravo of 20 February 1975. They make men go soft as butter, apparently — which I think isn’t quite the desired effect when the aim to to entice men. These panties are “colourful like lollipops and just as sweet”. Nice tat of Lucky Luke, though.
Patentex Oval foam contraceptive advert in Bravo of 12 January 1978.
An advert for the Kodak mini photo camera — with handle and in-built flash — in Bravo of 10 December 1981. It would make for a good Christmas present, we’re told. More Kodak ads.
An ad for Pentatex birth control in Bravo of 14 October 1976. That kind of thing was still controversial in 1976.
An ad for Sony cassettes in Bravo of 2 October 1980. To me, no advert could scream more “Nineteen-Eighty” than this, with the girl’s blue head.
In 1982 Mustang jeans ads were still going for the “People of Today” proto-selfie option, with animal carer Jutta Seidel, 21, from Stuttgart does here with monkeys she cares for. This ad is from Bravo of 30 September 1982.
An advert for Joker perfume by Nerval in Bravo of 20 September 1979. “So what? I’m Joker.” Joker: a cheeky scent.
Advert for Mustang jeans in Bravo of 27 August 1981. It’s the ’80s, man, and 20-year-old Rainer Grupe took this proto-selfie because, apparently, he does what he wants.
More Mustang ads
An advert for Wella hairspray products, topped by that week’s scientific horoscope, in Bravo of 10 August 1978.
The Social Democratic Party under Chancellor Helmut Schmidt is trying to present its case to West-Germany’s youth in a double-page ad in Bravo of 29 July 1976. Schmidt beat his eventual successor Helmut Kohl in that year’s election.
