The readers’ charts in Bravo of 11 December 1975.

ABBA are pictured on the cover of Bravo of 11 December 1975. Agnetha’s dress is quite short; I hope she didn’t catch a cold.
In that issue the Bravo Bazaar, in which stars give away gifts for lucky winners, offered among many other things Björn’s star-shaped guitar as used when ABBA won the Eurovision Song Contest, a 1969-model Volkswagen bus owned by German singer Maggie Mae, Suzi Quatro’s ten-year-old leather jacket, and a signed shirt from Alice Cooper. Some stuff obviously was acquired by Bravo and ascribed to stars, but some of the personalised stuff… wow!

John Lennon on a centrespread poster in Bravo of 2 December 1982, to mark the second anniversary of his murder. Today it is 45 years (!!!) since his murder — in five years, it’ll be half a century since that awful day.

Shakin’ Stevens, having swapped the denim for a tux, on a centrespread poster in Bravo of 2 December 1982. Don’t worry, kids, Shakey is still a socialist.

Commodore games you can play on something called VolksComputers in this futuristic ad in Bravo of 4 November 1982. I wonder if the Year 2000 will look like this!

A report on ABBA’s appearance on the Showexpreß TV show, in the Bravo issue of 2 December 1982. There is new harmony since the two couples split; the girls have solo plans and the guys are writing a musical with Tim Rice (which turned out to be Chess), but there is not talk of a break-up.
The Showexpreß performance, recorded on 11 November, was either their second or third-last TV performance. I think this clip, in which Agnetha looks gorgeous, is from that show.

Wolfgang Niedecken, frontman of German rock group BAP, on on a centrespread poster in Bravo of 2 December 1982. BAP sang — and still singing — in the Kölsch dialect that is unique to the city of Cologne, yet attracted nationwide fame.
