Greek singer Vicky Leandros, a big star on Germany’s Schlager scene, on a centrespread poster in Bravo of 15 May 1975. Though based in Germany, the polygot daughter of a well-know musician was also a star in other countries, and won the Eurovision Song Contest in 1972 with “Après Toi” for Luxembourg. It was a hit for her in the UK as “”Come What May”” and in Germany as “Dann kammst Du”. In 1967, she came fourth at the Eurovision, again for Luxembourg, with “L’amour est bleu”, later an instrumental hit for Paul Mauriat as “Love Is Blue”.
Leandros later went into local politics in Greece, with the social-democratic PASOK party.
